Dutch Country Sheds – How Our Sheds Are Built
There is a lot that goes into building a high-quality storage shed! At Dutch Country Sheds we believe in providing the lowest cost of ownership. This means that we offer the best combination of quality materials and high-quality craftsmanship at the most affordable price! We will never sacrifice quality materials and workmanship in order to lower costs or cut corners, which would result in a product that would not last and end up costing you more in repairs and or replacement. If you are wondering how our high-quality and affordable sheds are built, read on to learn more!
Before We Build
Before we build, we ensure that all buildings are structurally sound. The first set of eyes on your order happens in the office. We always ensure that the shed is exactly what the customer asked for – the right size, color, and roof type are double checked before the plans make their way to the builders.
The Building Process
Our storage sheds, like all of our portable buildings, are constructed in an assembly line construction process. This process was designed by Kenneth Miller, owner of Classic Buildings and Dutch Country Sheds. This construction process ensures that high-quality work is put into every single one of our buildings.
Our assembly line construction process requires many different skilled workers. At Dutch Country Sheds, our staff are highly trained professionals and are knowledgeable and skilled craftsmen. For example, the first step requires the shop foreman to build the shed floor.
To get the walls ready for the shed, a few workers will begin cutting the walls, preparing the studs, and then preparing the building for painting. By the time your shed gets to the framers, all they have to do is nail the shed together!
The building process requires a lot of planning, double-checking, and collaborating. Everyone works together to ensure your shed is built with the utmost care.
Building Features
At Dutch Country sheds, we combine quality materials with superior Amish craftsmanship to produce a shed that will last at an affordable price. During the building process, all of our sheds are built with the following features:
- Robust Flooring System: When it comes to installing the floor of your new portable building, you can rest assured knowing that all of our sheds are built with 3/8″ tongue and groove flooring. This special floor covering adds strength to your building. It also helps to keep moisture and rodents out of your shed. The 4″ x 6″ specially treated skids will never need to be replaced.
- Walls: For all of our sheds, we use 24″ on center advanced framing in combination with 3/8″ LP Smartside Siding. LP Smartside Siding is high quality and offers both the warmth and beauty of natural wood combined with the durability of engineered wood.
- Strong Doors: We offer the strongest doors on the market with all of our sheds! Our doors will not warp or sag. With our doors on your shed, you can feel assured that your possessions and valuables will be safe inside.
